The second Tuesday of each month La Mex will take a portion of the proceeds from the entire day, BOTH locations, and give all that money to a very worthy local Non-profit organization. This month we are supporting “Friends of Pets”

Friends of Pets provides vital animal welfare and protective services
for abandoned animals, with respect, compassion and integrity.
We intervene to reduce the euthanasia rates at the Anchorage Animal
Care & Control Center, to promote responsible pet ownership
and to improve the quality of life for companion animals.

May 17th – 22nd in the Heart of Spenard…
La Mex is joining forces with other wonderfully fun and eclectic Spenard merchants in order to Celebrate the birth of Joe Spenard…The founding Father of the little piece of Anchorage we call “Home”!!! ~ To honor Joe we here at La Mex have decided to feature “Spam” Tacos on our menu for a limited time! Of course we will be toasting Joe with our signature “Margarita Grande” as well! ~ …And in the name of “Giving Back” we are also going to be a drop-off for the Brother Francis Shelter, So any Household items that you think would be useful would be GREATLY apprieciated!!!
…And that brings us to May 22nd and the Debut of the Spenard Farmers Market!!!
Across the street from La Mex in the Chilkoot Charlies parking lot, under the Windmill. Join us and the rest of Spenard as we kick off our own Farmers Market for the summer!!
